back to classrooms. millions of students and parents across the country in the wake of sandy hook. stay with us, everybody. you're watching "world news now." >>> "world news now" continues after this from our abc ♪ >>> welcome back, everyone. it is easy to forget that christmas is just one week away, and schools, they're in their final days before holiday break. >> doesn't seem a lot like christmas time. but none of those days are likely to be as nerve-racking as yesterday was. that was the first day back since the connecticut shootings. abc's amy robach reports on what was an anxious monday for many. >> reporter: parents around innation dropped their children off at school. many holding on a little more tightly. a day of jitters. schools from new york to tennessee to texas all went on alert after fear ignited several false alarms, some bomb threats. others as minor as an umbrella mistaken for a gun. an elementary school in richfield, connecticut, just 20 miles from newtown, went into lockdown after someone reported a suspicious person. security on the minds of principal, it was a pri
